GothamHistory.com is devoted to New York’s yesterdays. Its proprietor, John Thorn, is, in his day job, the Official Historian of Major League Baseball. He is often visible on tv and the web as a sports authority and commentator. He has written, edited, and anthologized many books, with his first being issued in 1974. He appears irregularly in the Boston Globe, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times Book Review. He has co-curated two exhibitions at the Museum of the City of New York and was the creator of New York 400: A Visual History of America’s Greatest City, with Images from The Museum of the City of New York (Running Press, 2009).
